![]() This class focuses on increasing endurance for previously learned swimming strokes (front crawl and backstroke) as well as introducing rudimentary sidestroke and breaststroke. ![]() Participants will also begin headfirst entries from the pool deck (seated position). Participants will learn front crawl, backstroke, and elementary backstroke at rudimentary proficiency and be introduced to treading. In this class children will begin to expand their skills in the water and learn and practice survival floating. ![]() Participants will begin to develop simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on front and back, laying the foundation for future stoke development. Children will work on gliding and rolling without support and recover to a vertical position. This class introduces true locomotion in the water. Children will work on retrieving submerged objects, gliding, and rolling from front to back and back to front with support. Participants start developing positive attitudes, effective swimming habits, and safe practicing in and around the water. This class introduces children to basic water skills which children continue to build on as they progress in their swimming ability. Please make sure your child wears a swim diaper if not potty trained. Parents will learn fundamentals of water safety as well as how to properly handle children in water and respond to emergencies. Parents and children engage in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun.
